12 (who?)
 Followers-wanted-resized-600 by JeremyArts

I overheard this conversation between a group of teens girls and they were like talking about the number of "followers" that they have on tumbler . if I didn't heard wrongly , she said it was about at least 2000+ .. I believe this works the same way as facebook or so but BUT .. one girl was telling the rest how she did it .  I quote , just show a few bra straps and flash a couple of cleavage and you should see the followers counter go sky high .

Wow , I for one didn't know such methods exist and somebody actually "coach" how the rest howto do it . Seriously , I am amazed at how these people go to such lengths just to get these so call "online followers" , I hope they feed her ego . If you ask me for my opinion , I would rather just have a good number of quality friends then to have thousands of fake friends who are never even there for you when you needed them . Quality people is my first priority for sure with no questions asked ,but when I put myself in that teen girl's shoe , I think there are a couple of valid points to raise up .

1) What if she is the kind of person that has low self esteem and need these "follows" to boost her spirits and confidence ?

2) What if she is just someone that wants attention ?

3) what if she is doing this , due to the size of her ego (character issues)

I am not sure about this but I think this seems to be a trend in social media , things ranging from facebook , tumblr , twitter and even youtube . If you ask me , I am really blessed with the number of awesome friends and watcher here that really looks out for me unconditionally. But what if you have a whole load of followers that follows you just because you did a strip tease on youtube or uploads like 20 photos of yourself a day just people to save them to their computer ( eye candy ) . I am not sure about this , what is your take on this one...

Quality, definitely. Even when I was younger I wasn't like the popular girls, having 10+ friends. I only had like 4 friends. On here, I have some watchers, but not as much as most people. They watch me because They either like my art, or talk to me and like me for me. I would never post anything online of myself. For safety reasons and because I don't want watchers because they like the way I look. In my opinion, talking (Or typing in this case) is a much more efficient way to make friends than to look pretty for them.

I go more for quality than quantity, definitively more worth it in the end, since you can mass call on your followers to do something but you can't really connect to them since they're as moody and probably only looking for things like what made them follow you or find you (like the bra thing).

I'm all for quality. At home, I have had the hardest time finding quality friends; I have made a few, and those few are worth way more than the time I give them. These past few weeks while I was in a Greek Orthodox camp, I met some really awesome people who share the same heritage as me, and who are so similar to me. It was really great meeting all of them, and I hope that I can foster quality relationships with some of them :)

I don't have many or make friends very easily because of where I live. But when I do, they last forever *knocks on wood*.
I prefer quality over quantity. This ams question goes for knowledge as well. Do you want to know about everything, but know only the basics of ti
or do you want to know some things in more depth and detail? I choose quality over quantity in this too. Quality is the same as wisdom while quantity is the same as being smart.
Yes, they are two totally different things. I want to be wise over being smart. also I found out that in school, just because you are in an honors class doesn't mean you are smart. Its because you can keep up with your work and the pace they are heading at.
Yes, some people may be smart and love the stuff to death like I do, but again it doesn't mean anything. Most people call me smart at school and Im only in 2 level one classes while everything else is average.

Darling , in life we cant expect to have like 1000 friends
but some people just want to be more KNOWN and wants to have 1000 friends maybe more
remember , 1 good friend can surpass all those figures
its all about playing it smart and be selective of your friends

you are a smart girl outside of text book , i see alot of potential in you to do something great in future

I understand that very much Jeremy and people have to realize that at some point that quality is better than quantity.
I very much agree. And thank you very much, that means a lot to me. Im not even sure of what collage I want to go to yet!
I just will cross that bridge when I get to it and you are a great friend Jeremy. Your advice is something everyone needs to listen to and Im sure glad that I do! :)

Well, I know full - my photo of Mermaids (lovely bubbly ladies in swimwear with tails in a vertical tank) is one of my most popular of all time.
If I took photos of pretty women and posted them, my follower count would rocket.

I don't; that's not why I pursue my hobby

C'est la vie, though
